Extension of the Grade II Listed Bread Stores, Hilderstone

The restoration and conversion of this out-building within the curtilage of ‘The Bread Stores’ will serve to extend this Grade II listed residential dwelling.

The conversion will provide a double bedroom complete with en-suite and gallery landing to the 1st floor, which over look an open plan family and dining to the ground floor. An existing brick barrel vaulted ceiling to the central store room will provide a pizzeria for decorative purposes. The conversion will see the out-building linked to ‘The Bread Stores’ via an oak glazed frame complete with black zinc mono pitch roof. This light and spacious area which will form both circulation space and dining area off the existing kitchen.

The original form of the out-building will remain, with existing windows removed and replaced with new double glazed painted timber flush casement windows. The glazed link is designed to be subservient to the existing Grade II listed buildings whilst fitting minimally between existing features and windows.

The link is designed using a glazed oak frame complete with bi-fold doors to link between the two buildings. The high quality ‘black zinc’ material will clearly contrast between the new and old materials and compliment the brick and and timber glazing. More photos to follow when the build begins on-site.
